A Message from Principal Brandi Haskins

Hello Dragon Families,

Welcome to West Point High School, the home of the Dragons!

We opened our doors on July 31, 2019, and have since grown to nearly 3,000 students. Our campus is state-of-the-art, designed to be collaborative and provide opportunities to engage in our STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) curriculum. Our campus includes an Innovation Center that houses makerspace classrooms, a gathering space for presentations, and access to our library resources. Our open quad area in the center of campus is an area where students can gather with their friends, read, study, and take a break. Our classroom designs are flexible and include natural light.

Our Leadership Academy provides students with an opportunity to challenge themselves with Advanced Placement and Advanced courses, and to involve themselves in a Leadership program to develop their own skills for college, career, and community service. It is our honor to have a strong relationship with Luke Air Force Base. Our students have the opportunity to learn about and see STEAM in action!

Our academic programs focus on preparing all our students for colleges and careers. We have courses for all our learners to grow and excel. We have honors, Advanced Placement, and Dual Enrollment courses in multiple subjects, and we  and have hundreds of students participate and earn credit each year. We offer Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Human Anatomy, Geology, and Environmental Science in our Science Department. Our World Languages Department provides courses in Spanish and Mandarin. Our Career and Technical Education Department boasts Engineering, Coding, Digital Communication, Business, and Law and Public Safety courses for the next generation of business and community leaders. We offer strong support systems for our students with IEPs and 504s. Our Guidance Team provides information and support throughout the year for all students.

We are building athletics, clubs, and co-curricular programs in a variety of areas, and each year we add more to meet student interests and needs. Our students have many opportunities to participate in campus life outside of the classroom and at school and community events.  We have a large variety of sports, and each season we are proud of the dedication of our athletes to perform on and off the field. Our Performing Arts Center is visually stunning and busy with our talented students. We showcase the work of our musicians, dancers, actors, and other presentations.

West Point HS Dragons are fierce and determined. They have shown the hard work and perseverance needed to succeed. They are on fire! They focus, and they demonstrate Integrity, Respect, and Excellence. Our committed staff help develop the students and this school into a model of Excellence.

The sky is the limit for our talented students. Watch our Dragons take flight!
