Welcome to the Home of the dragons

You may not have heard of us yet, but look out, because here we come! West Point High School is the newest member of the family in the Tolleson Union High School District. Located at Avondale Blvd. and Encanto Blvd. in the city of Avondale, we’re opening our doors for the 2019–20 school year to ninth and tenth graders. We are the Dragons, and we are ready to blow you away!

Welcome to West Point High School, Home of the Dragons!

January 2020

It is a great time to be a Dragon! West Point High School is continuing with the “firsts” that come with being a new high school. Academic milestones, competitions, activities, and culture building have taken place and we continue to see the strength and persistence of our West Point Dragons. Our many sports, clubs, student government, music programs, performing arts, engineering program, and many other opportunities are already providing our students with opportunities to discover and grow in their areas of interest. Our academic program provides varied rigorous courses and supports to all students.

Phase II of construction has been completed and we look forward to the completion of our performing arts center in May. We are ready to go to welcome the next group of Dragons who will join us for the 2020-21 school. We are currently enrolling students for next year. (See the links on this page to begin registration.) We will be accepting freshmen, sophomore, and juniors for the next school year. If you are interested in speaking with a staff member, please call our main line (623) 474-8700.

West Point HS has a science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) focus in our curriculum. Our courses and electives reflect that focus. The WPHS Leadership Academy engages students in an academically rigorous and leadership focused program including on and off campus opportunities to engage.

We hope that you will visit our website regularly to see what is new at West Point High School. Dragon Nation is proud of what we have accomplished so far, and excited about what our future holds!
