Welcome to the home of the dragons

You may not have heard of us yet, but look out, because here we come! West Point High School is the newest member of the family in the Tolleson Union High School District. Located at Avondale Blvd. and Encanto Blvd. in the city of Avondale, we’re opening our doors for the 2019–20 school year to ninth and tenth graders. We are the Dragons, and we are ready to blow you away!

Welcome to West Point High School, Home of the Dragons!

October 2019

Welcome to the West Point High School Website.  We are in our inaugural year with students and it has been an exciting time for all involved! We have over 1100 freshmen and sophomores attending daily. The campus is busy with rigorous classes, clubs, athletics, and even a Civil Air Patrol school-based squadron.

Each day, West Point High School students and staff are building traditions and developing a positive school culture. As a Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) school we offer programs in Engineering Sciences, Digital Media, Coding, and Marketing in our CTE program. We also have arts programs in Theater, Band, Guitar, Choir, Piano, Dance, and Visual Arts. Students at West Point can find courses to meet their interests and core content classes to prepare them for college and career.

Our Leadership Academy has over 130 students currently and will expand next year to welcome new freshmen to the program. Students carry a rigorous course load of Honors and AP classes while developing their leadership skills through on and off-campus opportunities.

We are just weeks away from beginning our planning for the 2020–2021 school year. Open enrollment forms will be available on the TUHSD website, our WPHS website, and in person at the West Point campus. Our boundary map is also available on-line. Registration for new students for next year begins on December 1.

We are proud of the work that our Dragons have done this fall to establish West Point as a place where students can learn, engage, compete, and grow.
